America's Sunday Matinee is a once-a-month family movie event in theaters. Unlike a typical film, America’s Sunday Matinee is more like a 90-minute on-screen variety show with sing-alongs, interactive games, Bible stories, short films, special guests, and more - all focusing on heart-moving biblical themes.
It's a one-of-a-kind BIG SCREEN EXPERIENCE for purposeful parents and grandparents to help disciple their school-age children (or grandchildren) – everyone having a blast together – and opening discussions later with easy to follow do-at-home resources for those who want to reinforce the themes seen in the theater - all while directing kids into their Bibles.
Each month will introduce a new biblical theme such as thankfulness, humility, and forgiveness – so every month will be a brand new experience with all the content centered around that month’s theme.
Theater partnerships, evangelical alliances, and parachurch sponsorships mean family-friendly pricing and opportunities to invite non-churched friends and neighbors.
We’ve teamed with trusted ministries to create 100% biblically-based resources and activities for kids to do at home to reinforce what was learned in the theater.
In addition to parents, we have a special emphasis and special resources to honor and learn from the most undervalued group we know – grandparents! America’s Sunday Matinee is a great onramp for grandparents to pour faith into their grandkids.
A handy QR code takes matinee-goers to the website for resources, including thoughtful follow-on questions to stimulate purposeful family discussions afterwards. It also includes additional information about Jesus and the gospel - even help for finding a local church.
Sunday Matinee events open with cartoons or short live-action features, all gospel- supporting programming. Our theater partners will never play any worldly promotional trailers or previews beforehand.
Movies can open the doors of the heart - inviting opportunities to further explore the Bible for monthly matinee themes like grace, obedience, the greatness of God, the gospel, and vital foundational wisdom and direction for abundant and eternal life. What an opportunity - what timing in today's chaotic world - to use Sunday entertainment for such great good.
